Island-based Telehealth
The Mission’s island-based telehealth stations backpack kits on Maine’s remote, unbridged islands for use by residents. Each kit contains a laptop or tablet along with medical instruments routinely used by providers in examinations. A resident can book a kit and conduct an appointment from the comfort of their own home.
The initiative ensures rural patients have greater access to medical care through multiple health systems as well as equips participating providers with baseline tools to conduct an exam. It is made possible through a partnership with MCD Global Health and the Seacoast Care Collaborative, the latter of which is a part of the Mission’s Island Health program.
To participate in the telehealth backpack kit program, please select one of the options below, For Patients or For Providers.
