It’s Thank you Thursday for Penobscot Island Air

BAR HARBOR, ME — It’s Thank you Thursday and today’s shout out of Mission Love goes to Kevin Waters, owner and chief pilot, and the whole team at Penobscot Island Air. They do it all. Supporting islanders with food and medicine deliveries; transporting patients for medical care and Mission staff providing services; always thinking ahead and doing what is helpful, safe, and right! They are phenomenal people, with hearts of gold.

CHERRYFIELD, ME — It’s Thank you Thursday! Today’s shout out of Mission Love goes to an amazing group of organizations and volunteers who make food delivery happen! Boxes full of food, packed up by LL Bean staff; essential commodities for seniors delivered by Eastern Area Agency on Aging; lots of good stuff from Good Shepherd Food Bank; and a fabulous crew of volunteers including Milbridge TREE staff ready to load it all up and get it to downeast households.

It’s Thank you Thursday for Graham Fitch of Front Street Shipyard

It’s Thank you Thursday for Graham Fitch of Front Street Shipyard

BAR HARBOR, ME — It’s Thank you Thursday and today’s shout out of Mission Love goes to Graham Fitch, our steadfast project manager at the Front Street Shipyard in Belfast, ME. For all of you Sunbeam fans, Graham has been the guy on the ground, in the yard, guiding the refit of our beloved vessel for almost a year now! His attention to detail, thoughtful suggestions, skills, and commitment make him a tremendous partner in the work.

When the Sunbeam gets underway again this summer, we know he and his colleagues will miss her in the shipyard but many grateful islanders – and our crew – will be thrilled to welcome her back into her next decades of service.

It’s Thank You Thursday!

Maine Seacoast Mission is grateful for the support of so many, including companies, volunteers, and community partners. Today’s shout-out of Mission Love goes to TREE (Transforming Rural Experience in Education) staff members Laura, Stephanie, and Maggie who volunteer at our Downeast campus every week, filling backpacks with nutritious foods that are then delivered to families from our local schools. TREE is a program of Cobscook Institute.
