Service Tours Coordinator
The Service Tours Coordinator serves as the administrative and logistical coordinator for Maine Seacoast Mission Service Tours. In partnership with Mission staff, community members, volunteers and local agencies, the Service Tours Coordinator carries out the day-to-day operations; volunteer recruitment, hosting, and management; and program administration. The Service Tours Coordinator serves as the welcoming presence and program contact to ensure effective communication and operations. This role is responsible for finding, recruiting, and supporting volunteers for Service Tours projects.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Ensure effective operations for all program offerings of the Service Tours
- Find and recruit skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled volunteers for all program offerings of the Service Tours
- Help develop and implement the recruitment plan and year-round cycle
- Solicit and manage project applications
- Conduct visits to potential sites with project appraisers; develop scope of project, materials list and tools list in conjunction with the Housing Improvement Site Coordinator
- Order materials and set up deliveries with the Housing Improvement Site Coordinator
- Oversee worksites and volunteer groups to ensure safety and compliance with Downeast Campus procedures
- Identify, initiate, and manage relationships with community partners (Downeast and Islands)
- Greet volunteers when they arrive and gather paperwork
- Assist groups as they leave at the end of their week
- Plan, manage, and host evening meals with volunteers and guests
- Oversee the tool inventory
- Maintain relationships with volunteer groups
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

- Sales and retail experience
- Budget management
- Effective time-management and priority-setting skills
- Proficiency with computer programs: MS Word, MS Excel, SharePoint, various calendar software, and project management software
- Proficiency with standard office technology and equipment
- Experience working with people of all ages
- Ability to make people feel welcomed and valued, to be non-judgmental and focus on strengths and assets of individuals
- Ability to collaborate with other organization and individuals
- Able to work independently and with a team
Required Education and Experience
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Relationship management experience preferred
- Event and/or project management experience preferred
Special Qualifications and Certifications
- Valid driver’s license and working vehicle
Position Conditions and Requirements
Work Environment
- Prolonged periods in a stationary position at desk using a computer and keyboard in a professional environment
- Occasional seasonal work outdoors in varied weather conditions
- Occasional multi-day boat trips while living with a crew in small quarters
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
- Ability to drive a pickup truck or 13-passenger van
Travel Requirements
- Ability to travel statewide and throughout New England, as needed
- Frequent travel to all Mission sites
- Occasional overnight travel and day trips with long and unusual hours
- Comfort on boats in a variety of weather conditions

Compensation
This is a full-time non-exempt position based on a 40-hour work week with excellent benefits. The rate is $22 to $24/hour depending upon experience.

EdGE Afterschool Lead
The EdGE Afterschool Lead supports Mission Downeast initiatives that leverage education, leadership, experiential, outdoor activities, and mentoring-based programs to build youth engagement, aspirations, and resilience. This position works with a team of staff to facilitate EdGE afterschool programs with a focus on students in grades K-8. This role reports to the EdGE Afterschool Site Coordinator.
Responsibilities

- Provide a safe and welcoming environment for all EdGE afterschool participants
- Facilitate program and activities that engage youth
- Act as a positive role model and mentor to both staff and students
- Lead groups of students independently in various activities and programming
- Work as part of a team with other EdGE Afterschool staff to provide quality programming
- Other duties as assigned by your supervisor
