Bar Harbor, ME — Mission Scholarship Manager Terri W. Rodick keeps in close touch with the students she’s come to know through our Scholarship Program. Recently, Terri invited student scholarship recipients to share with Mission friends, their success stories and photos.
Here’s Ivy Wallace’s story.
==========
Hi Terri!
This past semester, and each one before it, I have been on the Dean’s list. I also have been chosen from the Nursing Program and Orono Student Nursing Association to attend the National Student Nurses Convention in Dallas, Texas this April.
While I’m there I will be able to attend seminars on topics I am interested within the field of nursing, have mock interviews for jobs, receive information on building a strong resume, and learn about ways to make nursing a better profession for both the patient and the nurse!
The Maine Seacoast Mission Scholarship has allowed me to be able to self fund some of this trip which will make me a more knowledgeable nurse in the future.
I have also been a soccer coach at the Orono Middle School this past fall — a great opportunity for me to teach kids, and make an impact on their lives, while teaching them about the importance of being a good team member and staying active.
