Walk Aboard Sunbeam: A Guided, Dockside Visit of Maine Seacoast Mission’s Iconic Boat

Learn more about the Mission’s history, and its work in Washington County and on outer islands, during weekly guided dockside visits aboard the iconic 74-foot Sunbeam. Tours take place every Friday at 1 p.m. this summer (from July 13 to September 19) while the Sunbeam is at her homeport of Northeast Harbor.

During the 20-minute tour, visitors see the inner workings of a vessel which welcomes more than 1,000 people aboard each year for basic healthcare, education opportunities, community gatherings, and more. Attendees also learn about the Mission’s programming based out of the Downeast Campus in Cherryfield.

These kid-friendly tours are free and open to the public. Each tour lasts 20 minutes. Please note, Northeast Harbor’s town dock and ramp are not accessible to wheelchairs. Visitors should be able to maneuver up and down stairs.
