BAR HARBOR — Monday, December 19, 2016. A few photos of the Colket Center floor dedicated in large part to the Mission’s Christmas Program. Rooms, shelves, drawers, and closets once used for resident living space are now Mrs. Christmas’s Command Central.
CHERRYFIELD — Wendy Harrington, the Mission’s Downeast Campus Director sent this news and photo saying, “I’ve attached a photo of some of the founders of the Table of Plenty at the 6th Anniversary dinner.
“On Sunday, December 4th, the Downeast Table of Plenty’s 6th anniversary, we celebrated the Table of Plenty and the wonderful people who make it so special.
“We celebrated the people who cook the meals, those who set up and clean up, the loyal patrons who come every week, the musicians who share their gifts each week.”

Cherryfield — Our Downeast Campus includes a quarter-acre organic vegetable garden where volunteers from the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners program work with Mission staff to grow more than 2,000 pounds of produce annually for the food pantry and the Downeast Table of Plenty.
The carrots are harvested, the fence is down, and the garden is put to bed for the winter. A cover crop of oats, visible in this photo growing behind Food Pantry Manager & Senior Companion Program Supervisor Gena Norgaard, is planted to help replenish the nutrients.
