Downeast

A person is more than their need for sustenance or shelter, and a community is more than just people who live in the same place. The Maine Seacoast Mission’s Downeast Campus in Cherryfield offers a safe, welcoming environment and a sense of belonging.

The Mission’s Downeast offices are located on a beautiful, 63-acre campus in Cherryfield. Three areas comprise the campus, which focus on education, community gathering, and community engagement. The Weald Bethel Community Center opened in 2018 and features a commercial kitchen, dorm rooms, full bathroom and showers, washer/dryer, and indoor space perfect for the Mission’s many community gatherings. The Ed and Connie Greaves Center houses EdGE programming and serves as a year-round education hub. The food pantry makes up the third space that stores dry and perishable goods for distribution in Downeast communities. As President John Zavodny has said, “Mission Downeast is a place where everyone is welcome, one where everyone belongs.”

Volunteers are at the heart of all our Downeast programs, and partnerships with other nonprofits make us even stronger. Sign up today if you would like to be involved.
