Fall Vaccine Clinics Come to Six Outer Islands

by | Oct 10, 2026 | News

This month, residents of six of Maine’s unbridged outer islands can get their fall vaccines without leaving home. Maine Seacoast Mission is partnering with Community Pharmacies to hold vaccination clinics on Frenchboro, Great Cranberry, Isle au Haut, Islesford, Matinicus, and Monhegan from October 19 to 21.

Fall clinics are a yearly tradition and part of how the Mission works alongside islanders to keep neighbors healthy through the winter.

Flu and COVID vaccines will be available at no charge. All island residents are eligible, with or without insurance. With advance notice, the Mission can also provide RSV, shingles, pneumonia, Tdap, and other vaccines.

Your gift to the Maine Seacoast Mission makes you part of all we do.

“When the nearest pharmacy is a boat ride away, something as routine as a flu shot can take a full day and depend on the weather,” says Mission President John Zavodny. “Bringing these clinics to each island means neighbors can get vaccinated close to home, before winter sets in. We’re grateful to Community Pharmacies for partnering with us and to the islanders who keep showing us what their communities need.”
