2025 Fall/Winter Bulletin Reflects on Growth

by | Dec 19, 2025 | News

The Fall/Winter 2025 issue of the Bulletin looks at how the Mission is growing with our communities. The past few months have seen the need for the Mission’s work expand, more people are visiting our food pantry, requesting Christmas presents to make sure their kids have a happy holiday, and looking for help as their resources are stretched thin.

In his letter to open the issue, President John Zavodny writes, “In response to more requests for housing help, we are growing Service Tours, the program that welcomes volunteer groups for weeklong service trips to help make homes warm, safe, and dry. As young people and adults look for economic opportunity in the trades, the Mission, in partnership with a visionary family, is rolling out a significant new scholarship to help them find just that.”

The Bulletin also features stories of the work the Mission has done to buoy communities. The Journey program fosters growth and increases aspirations in teens living in the Downeast region.

Your gift to the Maine Seacoast Mission makes you part of all we do.

The program, which is less than 10 years old, has already seen students reach great levels of academic success. There is also a story of how the Sunbeam brings together even those most remote communities. Finally, the issue highlights a longstanding partnership between the Mission and the Pilgrim Lodge that has been rekindled.
