Sunbeam V Bringing Guests to Frenchboro Lobster Festival, August 12

Please check the Sunbeam Island Services Schedule Calendar for any schedule changes due to weather conditions or other considerations.

“Every year on the second Saturday in August, rain or shine, the island community comes together to host this much-anticipated event, volunteering to contribute and cook pounds of lobster, bake scores of pies, donate items for the raffle and art auction and greet and serve the hundreds of guests who attend this Festival.  Over the years, the Dinner has expanded to include live music, a road race, children’s games and other activities, giving the event a true Festival atmosphere.” (Official Annual Frenchboro Lobster Dinner web site).

Sunbeam Day of Service Volunteers – Thank You

Sunbeam Day of Service Volunteers – Thank You

NORTHEAST HARBOR, Me – Yesterday, 20 volunteers cruised to Frenchboro (Long Island) on board Sunbeam V for a Day of Service beach clean-up. We gathered 20 plus bags of beach debris just a week before the island’s annual Lobster Festival. The beaches and harbor will look especially beautiful for this year’s festival.

Here are photos of the volunteers standing on the Sunbeam‘s top deck with the collected bags of trash. It’s a bit surprising that everyone is smiling considering the smell emanating from those bags!! I guess that shows just how awesome Mission volunteers can be.

A huge Sunbeam “thank you” to all who cruised with us!!
