The Colket Center in Bar Harbor houses the Mission’s central administrative offices and our outreach programs on Mount Desert Island.
Built as a summer home in 1902, the Greek Revival house was donated to the Mission in 1972 by Ruth and Tristram Colket, along with an endowment for its upkeep.
From November through April, the Mission hosts the Senior Coffee House at the Colket Center on the first and third Tuesdays of every month from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., open to all MDI seniors and offering good company, treats, and live music.
In 2016, the year of Acadia National Park’s centennial, we are offering free, guided tours of the house on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. in July and August.
Every December, the Mission invites the public to a Christmas open house and the opportunity to see the house in its full holiday regalia. Donations made at the event support the Mission’s Christmas program.
The Colket Center is well suited to celebrations and significant events, and is available for weddings and other occasions. Contact Nicole Keniston for more information.
